Executive Summary

Inspired by the desire to empower and improve livelihoods in hard-to-reach rural communities of Uganda, Communities Empowerment Africa (CEA) was formed to mobilize resources and implement programs that promote education, skills training, information access, HIV prevention & awareness, income generation, food security, refugees’ protection, human rights & civic engagement, clean energy, sanitation, and environmental conservation. In partnership with local community organizations, local governments, and international development partners, CEA establishes and sustains community libraries, schools, vocational centers, credit unions, information centers, and demonstration farms in rural communities, refugee camps, and other hard-to-reach African areas. The organization also promotes computer literacy, internet technology, green energy innovations, sustainable farming, and raises awareness on social, health, and economic issues that are key to the success, empowerment, and welfare of rural communities.
